No Tear Gas And Water Cannon Used At Batu Caves Temple

The above headline is a lie. Your government frequently lies to you, so does the government-owned media and government-owned police.
Who’s the really big liar this time around? None other than Malaysia’s highest ranking police, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan.

From thestar.com.my

KUALA LUMPUR: Demonstrators broke into the Batu Caves temple compound and destroyed temple property early yesterday morning, Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan said.

He said the crowd that had gathered there swelled from a mere 200 people just after midnight to more than 1,000 by about 2am.

“The demonstrators forced open the locked gates and started breaking temple property, prompting the temple committee to lodge a police report,” he said.

Minutes later several trucks of policemen, including those in plainclothes and members of the Light Strike Force unit, arrived at the temple and told the demonstrators to disperse.

However, they refused and instead fled into the temple premises, when police gave them a last warning.

When policemen pursued them, the demonstrators pelted and attacked them with stones and inter-locking bricks, resulting in several policemen being injured.

The demonstrators also threw a Molotov cocktail at a tourist charter bus, setting in on fire. They also shattered the windscreens and windows of several passing cars by throwing stones and bricks at the vehicles.

Musa said no tear gas or water cannons were used at the demonstrators during the incident.

“By about 4am, 69 people had been arrested,” he added.

As at press time, police were keeping a close watch on the area.

Hmm, “Musa said no tear gas or water cannons were used at the demonstrators during the incident.”

I wonder if Musa sees what I am seeing, so here are some pics during the incident for you to evaluate.

Screenshots has an excellent series of photos on the HINDRAF rally yesterday. They can be found here , here and here.

So how about it? Maybe Musa thinks those aren’t tear gas the police are firing into the temple. Maybe it’s fireworks to keep the crowd entertained.
Maybe Musa thinks those aren’t water cannons the police are firing into the temple. Maybe it’s holy water spread using a special holy water dispersal vehicle.
Right?

So either Musa Hassan is lying, or he is ignorant about the actions of the men under him.
Whatever it is, I have no confidence in this man as someone who is supposed to protect the citizenry and security of this country. Someone who either lies, or is incompetent as Musa Hassan would have been removed from his post immediately in other countries. But since this is Malaysia, and he has the political backing of the government, that is why he can either blatantly lie or not do his job by protecting the citizens, and still not be sacked.

So read my lips: Musa Hassan is more intent on protecting his political masters and not you. Unless of course you do only as the BN says. Then you’re safe.

So that you don’t have to read lies from thestar.com.my, here’s a probably more accurate view of what happened yesterday at Malaysiakini.

But then again, if it was true, it doesn’t make it anymore right to break into a property which was closed in the first place.

Klaw: Sure, but do we know for sure that it was broken in to? Or are you going to take the news report for the whole truth?

Man.. My fren was there at the rally. He said that the policemen were the one who torn down the gates and broke into the temples. Besides that, the policemen shot the water cannon and tear gas towards the crowd that were gathering peacefully. They also beat the people over there including women!!! My poor fren had to run from Batu Caves to the Selayang Market to escape them.

NO water cannon and tear gas KONON!!!

Klaw: nref81, that’s the thing, really don’t understand why the police attack people at Batu Caves. Not even at KL right? Damn.
