2 Years: Many Things Could Happen
December 13, 2007
2 years. Is 2 years a long time? Depends on the situation, some might say.
If a mother locks up her child in her room like a prisoner for 2 years without letting the child out, people will see it as child abuse and also see the mother as cruel.
If a pet owner chains and locks up is dog in a cage for 2 years without letting the dog out, that’s abuse of animals, and people will see the pet owner as cruel.
With that said, here’s the news:
PETALING JAYA: Police said they have detained all five leaders of the Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) under Section 8 (1) of the Internal Security Act.
The five are P. Uthayakumar, M. Manoharan, R. Kenghadharan, V. Ganabatirau and Vasantha Kumar. They were picked up at various locations in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Seremban.
They will be detained for two years, Inspector-General Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan said in a statement. On Wednesday Uthayakumar was released on police bail after having been arrested on Tuesday for a second sedition charge.
He was among three Hindraf leaders who were charged at the Klang Sessions Court on Nov 23 for allegedly making speeches to incite hatred at a gathering in Batang Berjuntai, Selangor, on Nov 16.
I got nothing else to say at the moment. Too stunned to blog, but thought I would share this news with you.
God bless Malaysia, and damn those cowards in government to hell.

stunned. yes, but with pak lah, the surprises never stops….
Klaw: Well, he could have taken the road to reconciliation, or he could have taken the coward’s way out by stifling dissent with the ISA. I think he might be digging his own grave.

Malaysian fully support the use of ISA to this fanatic Hindraf leader that only bring chaos and racial strive in the lovely Malaysia. Die Hindraf! and long live ISA!!!! a protector of peace!, know that US, UK and europe have their own version of ISA too… so stop crying….
Klaw: Go ahead then. I’m challenging you to name me US, UK, and Europes version of the ISA, a version that puts people under detention WITHOUT trial. Don’t name Guantanamo Bay.
If this leader was so fanatic, go ahead and gather evidence to prove his fanaticism and charge him in court. And racial strive?

Shouldn’t some others be arrested under the ISA as well ? Names like Hishamuddin Hussein Onn, Khairy Jamaluddin, Mohd Ali Rustam, Syed Hood, etc for seditious statmeents and inciting the public ?
I’m all for fair application of the laws.
Malaysia is a democratic country, yes ? We obey the Rule of Law, yes? We have a Consitution, no ?
Klaw: trashed, we do have the Constitution, but we do have laws that violate the constitution to a certain degree. And there’s 3 types of laws in this country, the common ppl’s law, the syariah law, and also the UMNO law.

What if someone starts suggesting of taking down al-Quran verses in schools? Surely kena ISA for inciting religious hatred…
(Mat Hoon gets away with the darndest things…)
What if some Mat Rempits composed a rap of Negaraku praising the government of its “good” works? Khairy will surely make it the official song of Pemuda UMNO. The Mat Rempit will get a Datukship & many ‘aweks’ to sleep with…
(Wee Meng Chee suffers the darndest reprimands…)
The Malaysian government deserves the accusations that it’s practising racial marginalisation. Ethnic Chinese and Indians are threatened with the revocation of their citizenship. Indonesians are on the other hand welcomed as brothers. Look at Khir Toyo. He’s got Indonesian blood running in his veins.
