Vote for MCA, MIC, Gerakan, PPP, and you vote for UMNO
December 27, 2007
Back in the days of 1957, Barisan Nasional’s power was probably split evenly between UMNO, MIC, and MCA. Fast forward 50 years, and it’s obvious that UMNO’s power within Barisan Nasional surpasses that of other component parties.
Latest evidence:
21st December 2007, Gerakan Youth vice-chief S. Paranjothy released a statement criticizing UMNO for inciting racial sentiments among Malays for political mileage.
22th December 2007, Gerakan distances itself from Paranjothy’s statement, and Hishamuddin Hussein suggests breaking ties with Gerakan. Main point to note: Hishamuddin is just the UMNO Youth chief, and he could talk down to Gerakan, a supposedly equal coalition member without any repercussions.
24th December 2007, Gerakan president Koh Tsu Koon states that Paranjothy may be sacked or suspended for stirring up unpleasantness within Barisan Nasional. Koh Tsu Koon also meekly tells Hishamuddin not to threaten the party.
27th December 2007, from Malaysiakini, PKR blasts Gerakan for being a party of ’slaves and puppets’.
Here are some excerpts from the articles that I wholly agree with:
Gerakan will always be a party of “slaves and puppets” at Umno’s disposal and is useful only to bring in votes for the ruling Barisan Nasional, said an opposition party leader.
Penang PKR chief Zahrain Mohemed Hassim said this is clear from how Umno had reacted to Gerakan Youth vice-chief S Paranjothy’s allegations that the Malay-based party had exploited racial sentiments for its own political mileage.
…
“Umno is willing to sever relationship with one of its component parties just because they can’t handle the valid criticism of one brave youth leader who spoke the truth,” said Zahrain in press statement released yesterday.
Zahrain also blasted Gerakan leadership under party president Koh Tsu Koon, who is also Penang chief minister, as weak and incapable of being independent from Umno.
“The statement by Koh that Paranjothy will be disciplined or even dismissed reflects the weak leadership of Gerakan - a party totally submissive to the iron grip of Umno.” added Zahrain.
…
Meanwhile, Penang PKR deputy youth chief Jason Ong described Umno Youth chief Hishammuddin Hussein’s threat to break ties with Gerakan following Paranjothy’s statement as a typical display of arrogance by Umno.
“Umno doesn’t need Gerakan or even MCA because of the superior political power Umno has over BN component parties especially when it possesses more than 50 percent parliamentary seats.
It’s simple really. In Barisan Nasional, UMNO is the top dog. And UMNO Youth comes next. Everyone else is at the bottom of the food chain. This will not change anytime soon because MCA, MIC, Gerakan, and PPP seem to be helmed by toothless leaders who constantly kowtow to both UMNO and UMNO Youth.
Therefore, think about your choices during the next elections. There’s much to dislike about UMNO. To vote for MCA, MIC, Gerakan, or PPP will only lead to boosting UMNO’s power and hegemony over the Barisan Nasional, and tighten UMNO’s grip on power over this country. Such unfettered and unchecked power will eventually lead this country to become a one-party dictatorship, if it is not already.
With such power, UMNO can claim anytime that this country is an Islamic country, and no one will be able to do anything about it.
With such power, UMNO can amend the constitution whenever they want to enact any types of laws they desire.
With such power, UMNO will probably never end the NEP, so in a country where the rich-poor divide is already huge, the rich will get richer, and the poor will get poorer.
With such power, UMNO can extend the retirement age for their cronies, and redraw the voting constituencies, and eventually, it will become that 1 vote for the opposition will mean absolutely nothing. (We’re already getting there. In 2004, 4.4 million votes went to BN, and they secured 198 seats. 2.3 million votes went to the opposition, and they secured 20 seats.)
In case you still can’t see what your vote for non-UMNO BN coalition members is worth, let the following graphics help you:

And 2007:

You deserve the government that you vote for. Vote MIC, MCA, PPP, Gerakan, and you boost UMNO’s power further.

I will not vote for anyone who not only breaks my temple but who breaks any place of worship.
And anyone who supports people who break my temple will also not get my support, even if he is the same race and religion as me.

I will vote for any stupid fool or idiot that stand as an opposition or independent as long as he/she is NOT from racist UMNO or stooge MCA or MIC.
Klaw: Equalizer, I think if you go to the People’s Parliament, you’ll see that there are efforts to change MPs from different constituencies. See if your voting area is listed, if not, perhaps you can volunteer to help.

after UMNO Youth, then UMNO Wanita, then UMNO Bayi Jantan, then UMNO Bayi betina, then UMNO animals, theeennnn only the rest.
Klaw: Some people claim that some of the UMNO Youth is a subset of UMNO animals, and are not mutually exclusive…like some unelected beruk who shall remain unnamed.

Thus why the strong sentiment against the government, and made Pak Lah worry. Even statements like “if you don’t like how we rule, you can cross over and become a Singaporean” in the Parliament are downright arrogant without knowing that even the minority Malay and Indian are better off by far than the ’successful’ Malaysians.

PS: Penang is thought to fall to the Green Band with alot “Mata Lebam” because they fear everytime someone go up to space, things and Toll Rates will Rocket up skyhigh. Even me not happy with the RM10 proposed bridge toll.
Get my drift?
Klaw: The popular saying used to go “Nothing in life is certain but death…and taxes”. In Malaysia, we should have “Nothing in life is certain but death…and toll hikes”.

haha. i love this post because of your attack at UMNO (me too like to attack them!). i love the formula charts too. can i borrow them to post in my blog? in 2008, i’m going to have a ’say no to BN’ icon on my sidebar (voting purpose) and maybe i can also use the 2nd chart together with the icon.
so true lah what you wrote here. UMNO is all powerful and all almighty. we can see that so clearly, so many times in the way they handle the other BN parties, and the way the other BN parties react (e.g their assembly on deepavali day and this recent parnajothy case).
TAK NAK TO BN!!
(because if you say ‘nak’ you are giving UMNO more power!)

It does make sense.. but where did u get the source for
“We’re already getting there. In 2004, 4.4 million votes went to BN, and they secured 198 seats. 2.3 million votes went to the opposition, and they secured 20 seats”
Coz if this statistic is true… it tells a lot how flawed is our “Erection” system every 5 years…
Klaw: ck4376, the statistics are accurate, you can google 2004 general elections malaysia. Or read my previous blog entry here.

Thanks for the graphics. It should be used by everyone to explain the current political situation in Malaysia. A picture says a thousand words, as they say.
