Will Malaysians Get Pwned By Badawi Again?

In 2004, Malaysians gave Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Barisan Nasional a landslide victory (dubious one at best) due to his election promises to the people of this nation. The people were quite happy to have a fresh face for a PM, and the use of rhetoric such as “I am the #1 public servant” and “Work with me, not for me” really struck a cord with voters in the country. Finally, they thought, a PM who would listen to the rakyat.

Ooops.

4 years later, it has already been shown that Badawi not only does not listen to the rakyat, he sends out the police and the Attorney-General to arrest protesters and prosecute them using draconian laws such as illegal assembly laws and the Internal Security Act. What happened to “Speak to me, I have got big ears.”? I guess he was actually talking to his sycophants in BN, not the people. Especially not people who disagree with him. So, biasala, cakap kosong saja.

Badawi

On 22nd January 2008, Badawi stated that he didn’t believe that BN will be doing as well in the upcoming general elections as they did in 2004. He finally revealed that what he promised in 2004 was for the long term, and not just for 5 years. I guess the BN election manifesto left out this little detail, but nevertheless, what Badawi said is fair. Some changes might take more than 5 years to see to fruition, but the unfortunate thing is, BN seems to be breaking those promises more than fulfilling them. And how long term is long term? Perhaps we should let you stay till 2020 perhaps, just so we can enjoy the fruits of your labor?

From Malaysiakini:

Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi today openly conceded that the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition will not be able to repeat its astounding electoral feat at the 2004 polls.

“2004 was an exceptional time. It was a transitional period, a time of high hopes. Now we have to implement, and implementation requires a lot of things,” said Abdullah at a press conference after a meeting with Umno leaders at the party’s headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.

He said what he had promised was meant for the long term and not just for within the BN’s mandate term of five years.

“(In 2004) there was a change of stewardship in the party, there were expectations (for) a lot of things to be changed but I can’t change everything.

“There were expectations (that) this had to be done and that had to be done but it is not that we haven’t done anything. I have begun to implement practically everything that I’d promised. I’ve begun to do it and it is in the process (of implementation). And that’s what we are doing.” (Me: Cakap kosong saja!)

In the general election four years ago, BN won over 90 percent of the parliamentary seats, or 198 out of 219 seats.

However in the run-up to the widely expected upcoming polls, the government is being battered by a number of issues - from high crime rates to the high cost of living as well as growing disgruntlement among the country’s ethnic minorities.

So, the question is, my fellow Malaysians, will you be hoodwinked into taking BN’s promises seriously this year (or the next, depending on when the elections are held)? Will you be taken in by the election ‘goodies’ that the BN machinery will use to butter you up?
The title of this post is “Will Malaysians Get Pwned By Badawi Again?”. Only you have the power to decide whether you will allow yourself to get pwned.

Another reason why I will not vote BN: Broken and unfulfilled promises.

P.S. This post is a prelude to a post that I will be doing later on regarding the election promises of BN and how they were broken. Stay tuned.

Just as a reminder to all…after having served for 3 years he equated that with 10 minutes in a football game. Which means he plans to stay in power for 27 years (haven’t added extra time yet)

By the way, the title of this post is Gospel. Seriously.

And Badawi is useless. So is BN. Anyone who vote for them still are a bunch of dumbfucks. Saying that, I bet all the rempits will vote for them. See the connection?

    BN + Badawi + Rempit = dumbfucks.

    Wahai sleeping beauty :)

    Psychoric,
You really need to let me know what PL stands for.

    Henry,
    27 years. That’s a scary thought ain’t it?

    constant d,
Well, seems like the only ones trying to buy rempit’s favors are BN. Tax payers money spent on jumping north pole, south pole, climb everest, etc.

    agaga,
    Keep the captions going ;)
