How BN Government Was Responsible For Our Angkasa-One
February 29, 2008
Remember the country’s pride when Russia helped send the first Malaysian, Syeikh Muzaphar Syukor, into space? I was one of the optimistic people who thought that this project could perhaps inspire kids to be more interested in Science subjects, and hopefully, one day, Malaysia will not need to depend on other countries to send OUR astronaut into space. That’s what I tell people anyway.
But putting that optimism aside, since we are in the full swing of elections, and we are of course concerned with fiscal responsibility in government, let’s look at how this deal with Russia came about. Back in the early 21st century, probably in 2003, I don’t recall, the BN Government put in an order for 18 Sukhoi figher jets from Russia. Total cost (don’t hold your breath): RM 3.4 billion. Let’s look at that in another way, so that you can appreciate the fact that, you, and your next ten generations will probably not even come close to seeing this kind of money in your bank accounts: RM 3,400,000,000.00.
Part of this weapons deal was for Russia to help train and send a Malaysian into space. The cost of the space trip or the total discount given is not known to me, so let’s just give the BN government a break and ass-u-me it was free, ok?
So, here are the facts: Under a weapons deal, the Russians will help a Malaysian get into space. All the BN government had to do, was buy the god-damned planes from Russia. The BN government is just doing what it knows best, mainly: finding creative ways to use the people’s money.
So today, I read that Najib had said the following, taking credit where credit was certainly not due:
Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak today launched a verbal salvo against opposition party PAS.
According to him, the Islamic-based party, which uses the moon as its symbol, only looks good from the outside.
“They are looking at the moon but highest they can go is up to the top of coconut trees. We, on the other hand, have gone to outer space.
“We will suffer if PAS comes out as our leader,” he was quoted as saying by Bernama at a function in Kedah.

We should buy one of these space-glasses for our Angkasa-two. This one should only cost us RM20 million.
I truly wonder sometimes, what BN has really achieved besides throwing money to gain achievements, and claiming that it was all due to their own efforts.

Criticizing people for not doing something which they have no power or means to do - is that an act of a leader with integrity and courage??
How can he get way with statements like that?

what wk said is exactly what the other millions of Malaysians who vote in the opposition say day in, day out. what about the other millions who also voted the BN election in, election out. NOW we can consider ourselves lucky b.cos we have Barisan Rakyat, we have 2 religious divide coming together willing to plant 1 small beautiful seedling, hoping & wishing upon Heavens that it will grow ,gradually but certainly, into a tree(3) and later transforming into a conopy of an alluring forest. It was already written in the heavenly book & we could see why there is a coincidence that Parliament was dissolved on 213 (Feb 13). This time the BN putras cannot effectively employ the fear factor of the integrals 513 because the birth of a new integrals is nullifing it and it is 213..213.. To stop the ” bullet ” (513), we now need to use ” sand bags ” ( 213 ) cost is cheaper but excellently effective. Beginning NOW, if BN ceramah speakers say 513, then Barisan Rakyat leaders should retort immediately …. we want 213..213.. Barisan Rakyat promotes national Renaissance of Malaysians… 213 rules..213..rules..

The plundering of 3.4 billions spent for this unnecessary purchase and what the UMNO Govt got was just a guy went to the space as a “TOURIST” lah. What so great?? The stupid astronaut was called hero after landing. The only thing he had gained was he can viewed the earth from the space. The Russains provided only one free seat mind you, the Govt has to pay for the ground training. One free seat only due to the kick back was heavy I supposed. Of course now leads to Athyanthu case.
