8/3/08 Ipoh: My Vote Is Cast. So Who Did I Vote For?

Went to Ho Seng Ong school in Canning Garden with the mum to cast my vote. Pretty quiet since there were only 3 streams (3 classrooms) used for voting. The entire process was pretty straightforward, if you still haven’t cast your vote yet, you can find out what the process could be like here. I finished in 5 minutes, so you guys better go before 1pm to avoid the ‘work 1/2 day’ crowd.

So who did I vote? I think the choice was pretty simple for me, because I was only faced with two choices. On one hand, I get to choose the party which uses race as the basis for staying in power, and on the other hand, I get to choose the party that wants an equal Malaysia for all Malaysians. Of course, I chose the party that does not stand for racial politics, because I do not believe the racist divide-and-rule policies and inequitable power-sharing.

You be the boss of this country, not the politicians. It’s time we elect someone who wants to listen to us, and not just say it for fucks (and votes).
