New Perak MB is Mohamad Nizar Jamaludin

The long awaited answer has arrived, as Malaysiakini announced that PAS’ Mohamad Nizar Jamaludin was confirmed as the Menteri Besar of Perak.

Mohamad Nizar Jamaludin is also Perak PAS secretary, and will succeed outgoing Menteri Besar Tajol Rosli Ghazali.

Nizar is 51 years old, and one of the professionals in the PAS line up. The Pasir Panjang state assemblyman is an engineer who obtained his degree from Aston University of Science and Technology in Birmingham.

Some testimonials from people who know him:

“He is the religious type and a successful businessman,” said cousin Shuib Hussin, 70.

Meanwhile, close friend Khalilul Rahman Abdul Samah described Nizar as a down-to-earth person.

“He has good rapport with the people. I was with him once when he stopped by the roadside to help some stranger fix his car.”

My hope for Nizar, as a Perakian, would be that he emulates his counterparts in Penang and Selangor and announces changes to the state administration.

The administration should aim for transparency and accountability, and also allow all government projects and procurements to go under open tender.

Here is the sincere hope that Mohamad Nizar will be an MB for all Malaysians, regardless of race or religion. I have faith in Raja Nazrin Shah’s and the Sultan of Perak’s choice, and I call upon all Malaysians and sons and daughters of Perak to respect this choice and allow Mohamad Nizar to work for the people, and not work against him.

    Petty issues
    The coalition leaders never learn
    Racial politics come again
This isn’t what the People wanted

Don’t the leaders learn at all?
Smell of power suddenly corrupted the thinking
Floating in their eyes water flowing through their tongues
    Imagining what will they get?

    Baby walks a few steps
    Quarreling becomes the form
Sharing of responsibility goes out the windows
    Ego has come to play
Greed has reared its ugly head

    Man….it is a short liberation!
In Perak the stage looks real hot
BN is waiting to take over
The bickering fools of PAS, DAP and PKR

    It is Barisan Rakyat
    The coalition better remember that!
We wanted BN out and learn its lessons
Here the coalition grabbing likes small children

Now the MB swearing in ceremony is postponed
The coalition got problem going through
    PKR wants to pull out…….
Citing differences of executive councilor’s seats allocation
    Again talking about race…….
    Never learn do they?
