Sore Loser: Penang UMNO Wants Projects Scrapped

In every competition, there will be winners, and there will be losers. The character of a person can sometimes be predicted when the person loses. For example, when Koh Tsu Koon lost in the elections, he graciously conceded defeat and ensured that Penangites got a smooth power transfer. However, there are others, like former Menteri Besar of Perak, Tajol Rosli Ghazali who preferred to go ‘drama queen’ on us and cry about his loss.

Today, this blog has added a new series called the “Sore Loser” series. In the aftermath of the 12th General Elections, this particular category of people are not hard to come by, so I hope that you enjoy this new series.

Gracing the inaugural post in the “Sore Loser” series is Penang UMNO. Thanks to ily for the heads-up. Take a read:

Penang Umno to recommend stopping all state mega projects

GEORGE TOWN, Thurs:

Penang Umno will recommend to the Federal Government to stop all proposed mega projects in the state, include those planned under the Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER), the second Penang Bridge, the light monorail transit system, the Penang Outer Ring Road, the Penang Sentral and the RapidPenang bus service.
State Umno secretary Datuk Azhar Ibrahim said the previous Gerakan-led state government had worked together with the federal government to bring all sorts of development to Penang.

“Since the people have clearly rejected development and made their choice for a change, we will recommend to the federal government to cancel all such projects. Don’t blame us for this,” he said after a state liaison committee meeting here today. In March 8 polls, Umno only won two parliamentary seats and 12 state seats.

The meeting was chaired by the deputy state Umno liaison committee chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Rashid Abdullah. Also present were Umno division chiefs from all 13 divisions.

Asked if this was Umno’s revenge, Azhar, who was appointed opposition chief, said: “This is not revenge…it is the new government’s responsibility to bring development to the state. We have done so many things in the past but we were criticised…we were blamed for wasting this and wasting that.”
To another question if this would bring about any implications to the people, he said: “The people have chosen and they wanted a new leadership.”

Some leaders lose, and they work hard to win the people back. Some leaders lose, and they work hard to punish the people who made them lose. Guess which category Penang UMNO politicians are in?

Did you hear that ? That was sound of the last nail to their coffin. Some people are just plain sore losers. If they were really sincere about the projects then they should still support the project. This sounds more like blackmail to me.

101% crap and disgusting! 6 feet isn’t deep enough and they are trying to find deeper, bigger grave for all BN’ers. If they continue the projects, at least there is something to shine about in 5 years time. oh hell, they really sucks big time.

It seems that each time an UMNO member start to say something, I feel heated up and start swearing.

Man, just give us a break.. People didn’t vote you guys off because they didn’t want the projects, it because you guys are a bunch of idiots free enough to make such statement (which is simply pointless) just to oppose the new government in whatever they are doing.

It seems that they never learn!

I just watched an interview with Pak Lah on national TV.
He pledged that the he will continue with all the projects that have been approved by the federal government.
Now Azhar must be thinking “ooops.. what did I say?”

This is just like hero in drama, who created problems and wars behind and come to rescue people at the end. What’s movie, I cannot remember.

    Politics play…

Azhar, you made a big mistake, people is watching you! Promise something, but took back at the end. Do you think of effect?
This effect is … topics of next election on empty promise made by BN. This will lose confedence and respect of people of Penang… Furthermore, another disaster for BN to win next election for Penang.

How many time can Penang BN lose in future election? Can you responsible for that, the words you spell?

    To all the leaders….
Please be responsible on decision you make, suggestion you finalise and words you say. This will not only become hot topics of future election and people of Malaysia, but will be losing chance or weakness for coming elections for many generations.

Mega projects is made for many generations to come, for the people of Malaysia, not for next election to win, not for Penang Umno, not for corruption benefit.
