Fate Of Perak Malays: All Over Exco Composition?
March 24, 2008
I started this blog, so that I can document the things Malaysians say. I contended in my “About” page that Malaysians say the most racist things, and this still holds true today, even though everyone is talking about voting along party lines instead of race lines, multi-culturalism, etc. The problem with Malaysians in general is that they have no idea that they are being racist. For example, read the following article:
IPOH: Some 20 Perak Malay non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have voiced concern over the fate of Malays under the new DAP-PKR-PAS government in the state.
The group, which held a special meeting at Tambun Heights here yesterday, will submit a memorandum to the Sultan of Perak.
Among those who attended the meeting were leaders of the Perak Malay Teachers Association, Perak Gabungan Pelajar Melayu Semenanjung (GPMS), Perak Angkatan Belia Islam Malaysia (Abim), Perak Association of Muslim Students, Perak 4B Youth movement, Perak Council of Former Barisan Elected Representatives (Mubarak), Perak Malay Traders Association and Perak Wanita NGO.
Nonee Ashirin Mohd Radzi, who chaired the meeting, said they could not accept the six-three-one formula to be used in the make-up of the state executive council.
Nonee Ashirin, who is one of the founder members of Perak Pertubuhan Profesional dan Pewaris Bangsa (Prowaris), said the formula did not reflect the composition of the state population with the Malays being the majority.
The formula agreed upon by the new state government would see the DAP taking up six exco posts, PKR three and PAS one.
“There should be more Malays in the exco line-up,” Nonee Ashirin said, adding that the exco should instead have six Malays and four non-Malays, like the representation under the Barisan Nasional rule.
She said the NGOs also rejected the creation of two Deputy Mentri Besar posts because they were not provided for in the state Constitution.
“The two positions are there just to fulfil the DAP’s political interests,” she added.

Who wants to make a bet that the leaders of these 20 NGOs are probably card-carrying UMNO members? Anyone?
The conclusion is that Malays’ fate in Perak is threatened because of racial composition in the state executive council. What a bunch of idiots.
There are 34 minister positions in the Abdullah Badawi’s cabinet (deputy ministers not counted). There are 25 UMNO ministers in these positions. Going by the calculations by these 20 Malay NGOs, I guess 5 more UMNO ministers should step down to reflect the racial composition of this country. Otherwise, who knows, some stupid Indian or Chinese NGO will start submitting memorandums to complain about their fate.

What about fate of people born after midnight? What about fate of people whose nose hole is more than 10% size difference? What about people with extraordinarily long eye lashes?
Oh, those poor poor people. The reps do not represent a correct composition of them. How now?

this further confirm that UMNO is bl**dy racist!!
grrr!! so angry lah at the antics of UMNO these days like their protest in a few states, calling for MB selangor not to appoint on malays deputy MB, what happened in terengganu and so on. i’m going to get very hard-working picking out all these points showing how racist they are to blog.

Things are never what they seem. Everyone thought we voted in people who are against racial policies. But we forget that not all of us voted along nonracial lines. and even the former opposition still insists on a “racial composition” in excos as with pkr in selangor.
we have to admit that some if not most of us voted for pkr, dap and pas believeing that they will do something for us.
but we must accept that they are a coalition of convenience. and until there is someone who can totally stand up for what we really believe in, we shall be changing parties in power hoping that they would evolve sooner than later.
but now we have a choice in Siber Party of Malaysia!

racial game again. when are they gonna stop this stupid thing? grow up malaysia. look at other countries or even just your small neighbour. Why are you so worried? Worry that you won’t get your bumi discount anymore? Ah, pieces of fudge.

can they be a little more intelligent. who the shit cares the composition of the exco. more importantly, it is not filled by buayas just like before. these idiotic NGOs didnt even know that, in the name of BN, they have been sodomised thru the alienation of land and timber concessions to the greedy politicians at a song for the past years. worse, these same NGOs even thank them after being sodomised. CAN SOMEONE FIND A WORD FOR THESE FELLAS?

Cmon my brothers ans sisters, there’ll always be people who are racist, we can’t really deny this fact. but most important of all is that we need to start to change ourselves first, we have to stop being a racist ourselves. We have to start from the man in the mirror first. When people start to see changes in ourselves, people will follow. yes i do agree people who perform these racial protests are idiots, so let them be!

These Malaysians cannot accept change. That’s unfortunate…
yh,
I got a word: Blinded.
Choon,
Agreed, what I am trying to get at is not that people suddenly stop becoming racist, but start to realize that their actions or words might be racist in nature.

56% or 1,130,900 out of 2,157,700 Perak citizens are malay. What, there’s only 3 malays EXCO ? Ha..ha.. Thanks to British Colonial for bringing the tin mine labours from China mainland. Their grandsons are very smart lo. Very funny hah.

I guess that applies to the previous commenter as well.

2 x 5 la, you all. RACISTS also !!
April 2, 2008 at 12:40 am
mok,
So you’re arguing that exco seats to be given base on race, and then calling people who do not agree racists. Haha.
So let’s have a Prime Minister that has 60% Malay blood, 25% Chinese blood, 10% Indian blood, and 5% lain lain blood then.
April 2, 2008 at 9:53 am
Law,
I suggest you call Buntong DAP assemblyman, ask YB Guna, on what basis he did that action ? I’ve already said 2 x 5. OK la, 5 x 2. Kuang..kuang..kuang…
April 2, 2008 at 5:32 pm
mok,
It’s YB Sivasubramanian if I’m not mistaken. And although I haven’t had the time to blog about it, it doesn’t mean that what he did was acceptable and that I agree with it.
We can keep on arguing on what’s right and what’s wrong in the Perak State Exco makeup, and in the end, we will still have our difference in opinion.
However, my stand on this is clear:
The racial composition of the state exco does not matter to me, as long as they do their job and treat all citizens of Perak equally. I believe in the Pakatan Rakyat because they were voted in based on a multiracial platform, unlike Barisan Nasional which only contains parties fighting for their own race.
So perhaps, the questions that you should think about is this:
1. Will having 6 Malay Exco members mean that Malays will be better off in Perak?
2. Will having 3 Malay Exco members mean that Malays will be marginalized in Perak?
April 3, 2008 at 11:55 am
Law,
“I believe in the Pakatan Rakyat because they were voted in based on a multiracial platform, unlike Barisan Nasional which only contains parties fighting for their own race”.
Not only you believe that. All the malay voters from PKR & PAS shared the same aspiration before Mac 8 (not me). Now they feel so regret, immedietly after YAB L.G.Eng press conf. about DEB. Then Penang malays EXCO shrinked 50% although 40% of Penangites are malays . To make worst, one other minority races been awarded DCM plus a meaningful portfolios compare to PKR malay DCM. Here in Perak, the malays not only feel regret but they realised that they have been cheated. They never imagine before, that their votes will be manipulated by certain quaters to gain their own benefit. Compare to Penangites, Perak malays even worst because their votes created a tragedy to themselve although they are MAJORITY. Anyway, old malay said, ” you can’t harvest banana twice from a single tree “. I’ve got a signal that they eager to take revenge on next GE.
p.s. Law, you right YB Sivasubramaniam. Sorry not alert coz not my favour.
April 3, 2008 at 3:54 pm
mok,
If it is true that many Malay voters feel the same way as I did, by voting based on a multiracial platform, then why would these same voters be worried all of a sudden over something like # of Malays in the Exco seats? Have all or the majority of the Malays you talked to in Perak signalled regret, or just a few? Also, how many percent of these people truly believed in a multiracial platform like PAS and PKR, or were voting PKR and PAS just as a protest against the government or UMNO?
It’s not even a month yet, and you can already assume the Malays in Perak have gotten a raw deal and are marginalized? Can I correctly assume that you are more concerned about racial composition, rather than good performance?
I pose you this simple question:
What if this Perak government manages to uplift the dignity and improve the livelihood of all citizens of Perak, and they did better than the previous BN government. Will you give your vote back to BN?
Btw, which part of Perak you from?
April 6, 2008 at 11:40 pm
Law,
I suggest you get response from this two personalities.
(1) Pasted original text.
“Kami dengan ikhlas menegaskan bahawa komposisi exco ini sepatutnya mencerminkan komposisi bilangan penduduk dan mewakili kepentingan semua kaum dengan saksama,” kata timbalan presiden PKR Dr Syed Husin Ali.
(2)
Buntong DAP assemblyman, YB Sivasubramaniam, about the same issues.
April 7, 2008 at 1:39 pm
mok,
So once again, you’re choosing not to answer a very simple question.
That’s 3 questions so far in this thread that I’ve asked, and you’ve chosen not to enlighten me with your personal opinion or with a direct answer.
You’re not evading the questions are you?
April 7, 2008 at 3:32 pm
Law,
This is my statements ;
Not only you believe that. All the malay voters from PKR & PAS shared the same aspiration before Mac 8 (not me).
Explainations : not me, It’s mean not including me.
This is your question ;
What if this Perak government manages to uplift the dignity and improve the livelihood of all citizens of Perak, and they did better than the previous BN government. Will you give your vote back to BN?
There’s no significant corelation between your questions and my statements.
