The Inconsistencies Of The Royal Malaysian Police
April 16, 2008
Is there anyone out there in Malaysia who still doubts that the Royal Malaysian Police work hand-in-hand with Barisan Nasional, and will not hesitate to do their bidding?
Take this for example, in a malaysiakini news report MB gives statement in his office, others off to S’gor IPK. The police wanted to take a statement from the Menteri Besar of Selangor, Khalid Ibrahim, and also PKR leaders Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and Azmin Ali. Supposedly, they had a few questions to ask these individuals over the Monday night gathering dubbed “Black 14″ to celebrate the political comeback of Anwar Ibrahim.
The police asserts that the gathering was illegal, and a police permit was not applied for.

We have already read that the permit was not applied because the gathering was held in private Selangor state property, but the police argued that the gathering was held in an open area (the field in Kelab Sultan Sulaiman). There was an estimated 20,000 people at the gathering.
As we should never ever forget history, especially when the contrasting event is something happened quite recently, let me take you back to last month, when 1000 Penang UMNO staged a one-hour gathering outside Komtar.

Which gathering looked more peaceful? Harass the peaceful and let the rowdy go?
The protest leader was none other than Penang UMNO secretary Azhar Ibrahim. I could be wrong when I say that the police did not even bother to interview Azhar Ibrahim, as I have not read any reports on this. The one-hour protest was by the police’s definition a clear-cut case of ‘illegal assembly’, but no action was taken against him.
Evidence of UMNO and Royal Malaysian Police working hand-in-hand? You tell me.

Common la. Like what happen to the voting ink shyt, where are the suspects? Or maybe they have quota for the gathering to be taken as illegal assembly? say 5000 and above. I never have good (even any) faith in local police and bah, the news doesn’t surprise me.

UMNO is above the law, so it seems. not the first time such preferential treatment given to UMNO nor will it be the last.
now, you understand why the cops never get the respect. and why so many just dont like UMNO. and why BN lost big time in the recent election. by the way, stop the post mortem. the answer is clear as daylight.

Psychoric,
Actually, by law, I think illegal assembly has a quota of 3 or 5 people, I believe.
yh, mike,
If the BN loses, then I doubt if they will ‘kow tow’ to the new government, since the new government are representing people who want to introduce a stricter form of IPCMC.
