Sahabat Blogger Laughs At A Dumbass

After the ‘political tsunami’ of March 8th 2008, suddenly bloggers are no longer seen as unemployed women, as described by our ex-Information Minister (good riddance to him).

First, Mohamad Khir Toyo, the opposition leader for the state of Selangor has started his own blog last month at http://drkhir.blogspot.com. Khir Toyo writes pretty well and presents his points in an organized manner (unlike me). Of course, it is up to the person whether they are convinced with his arguments. (I should attribute the term sahabat blogger to Khir).

On the same day, another quiet entrant to the blogging scene is another doctor and no other than Dr. Chua Soi Lek himself who blogs at http://drchua9.blogspot.com (9 must be some lucky number). Chua’s focus seems to be on rebuilding MCA, so his blog is honestly not that interesting to me personally. The good thing about his blog is that his views are presented both in English and Chinese, which allows ‘bananas’ to go read his views.

Most recently, we welcome another sahabat blogger by the name of Mohd. Ali Rustam, the Chief Racist Minister of Melaka. Of course, since controversy is in his nature and he has continued being successful in the political arena by playing the race card, no one was surprised when he finally came up with his masterpiece called Ladang Ternakan babi hadiah pilihan raya (as I am writing this at 7.15pm, the post has been deleted and is no longer accessible). Of course, with Google cache, he can never run away from his past, such is the beauty of the Internet. Read the cached version of the page. There were originally 300+ comments, but only 50+ were cached).

I spy with my eye…

With so many negative responses, this is surely a slap in the face for someone who is so used to gaining popularity using race, that he cannot fathom how come his views are so unpopular in cyberspace. He responded by first only allowing registered users to comment, to totally removing the commenting feature altogether. Many people have criticized this decision to turn off the commenting, but I was not surprised at all; after all, his blog is called “Dari Kacamata Mohd Ali Rustam”. You think he gives two shits about the viewpoint “Dari Kacamata Rakyat Malaysia”?

However, the most laughable thing over this whole episode is his contention that due to the numerous negative comments, he decided that his blog was being hacked. Hahaha, WTF? Read this laughable news report from TheStar:

Hackers attack Malacca CM’s newly launched blog

MALACCA: Though less than a month old, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam’s blog has come under attack from hackers.

He confirmed that mohdalirustam.blogspot.com encountered some technical problems yesterday and was temporarily inaccessible.

“There have been many people disturbing my blog including hacking it but never mind, let them do so,” he said.

“I made several comments and got reactions to them,” he told reporters after launching the 8th Malacca Twin Cities Convention here yesterday.

His blog, on current issues and the Pakatan Rakyat states, received over 2,000 comments over the past week.

Holy shit. What’s most laughable is when someone who seems to know shit about IT tries to act like they know what the hell they are talking about. First, TheStar needs to submit this IT news to their In.Tech guys, so that they won’t release such embarrassing news without proper vetting by IT professionals. Second, Mohd Ali Rustam also shows that he is clueless about cyberspace, and he needs to hire better IT advisers.

Perhaps these hackers keep trying to comment on his blog to do some SQL injection, failing that they are engaging in some cross site scripting action. Keep in mind, though, that Blogger is owned by Google, and I personally doubt if anyone would want to hack Ali Rustam’s blog.

    mahendran,
I just stumbled upon a copycat spoof site of mOhdalirustam.blogspot.com at mUhdalirustam.blogspot.com

“Blog saya yang lain ialah http://mohdalirustam.blogspot.com. Blog itu anda tak boleh komen.

Blog ini pula anda boleh komen kerana apalah gunanya ada blog tapi pembaca tak boleh beri komen atau ulasan.”
