Trengganu Mercedes Case Closed?
July 26, 2008
So I guess by now every Tom, Dick, and Harry has blogged about the Mercedes-Proton saga (wait, was that a pun) in the state of Trengganu. The overall and overwhelming consensus is that of disgust and disappointment at the purchase of the 14 Mercedes E-class vehicles for RM3.43 million, especially in a time of belt-tightening due to soaring fuel prices. And there has been universal ridicule over the excuses given for preferring a Mercedes Benz over a local car.
But don’t worry fellow Malaysians. The Mighty Lord Of Malaysia, Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has practically closed this case, and everything settle already la. Menteri Besar of Terengganu, Ahmad Said has revealed that Abdullah has given him permission to use the Mercedes Benzs.
However, Pak Lah later clarified that since the Mercedes was already purchased, it made no sense at all to sell the vehicles at a loss. Therefore, the vehicles would only be used by foreign dignitaries to Terengganu, and not the state exco members.
This practically means that the Mercedes Benzs will be parked in some garage and used sparingly, because I don’t think there are that many foreign dignitaries who would stop by Terengganu while visiting Malaysia. So with this decision by Pak Lah, what else can the people say or do? Case closed loh. Probably the ACA investigations into the apparent overcharging for vehicle servicing will cease as well, going by past history and expectations.
Pak Lah is world renowned for his famous “soft and firm” leadership, and this is just another case of him performing his “soft” leadership style. Using an anology of a penis (soft and firm mah), I would describe his leadership style as flaccid.

“Flaccid? Lemme check.” *unzips fly*
And now, since the state exco members are not able to use their luxury cars, will they have to get back into the seats of their old Perdanas? Or will they splash more money on 14 non-Mercedes vehicles? Let’s do some math. Assuming they buy a decent car like a Toyota Camry, that’s RM150,000 per vehicle. 14 Toyota Camrys, that’s only RM2.1 million total. But that’s ok la. Terengganu is a rich rich rich rich oil producing state, with billions of dollars in oil royalties or wang ehsan, what’s RM2.1 million eh? Drop of water in the ocean.
Terengganu State Government FTW!

The prestige on cars
The mark people associate
The power image projects
Amongst the crowd to say
‘I am the power what are you?’
So we read
The defying order of BN in Terengganu
State Executive Councilors cruising in MB
Ignoring order from the Federal leadership
The temptation is so great
The new Mercedes Benz sit
Winking eyes of magic
The BN state leaders can’t help it
‘Hey drivers…….take her for a spin
Let see what she can do on the roads’
The power game begins
When costs run high
The leaders should defray
No Sirs………….they want to shoot the game
The villagers shake their heads
They can’t believe the wastage gone
When people are suffering
BN ignores its own rules
The power game
They ignore the Federal leadership
The rot has set in
The sleeping beauty will flip-flop again

His management style is : Flaccid
hahahah priceless man
ok ive stopped testing and now I’m invading.
ok one of the things that really bothers me is the dumb ass statements these guys make in the press .. uve all heard it before… the lame excuses, asking us to change lifestyles (plant vege) to accomodate fuel prices, telling us they can justify buying mercedes’ because perdanas need too much maintnenance… i feel insulted that they think anyone would buy that kind of shit excuse and frankly it makes us (me and you included) look dumb in the eyes of most foreign entities reading that crap. core of the problem, Malaysia is governed by alot of men with the intelligence and mental finesse of 10 year olds. Note i didnt say ALL because some are cunning and evil and dastardly and all that good stuff that makes an excellent politician. I dont expect them all to have hearts of gold and stand on solid moral ground, but at least be efficient and intelligent while doing evil!
