Anwar Ibrahim Charged (Quick Thoughts)
August 7, 2008
Anwar Ibrahim charged in court today. The charge was under Section 377b, which states:
Whoever voluntarily commits carnal intercourse against the order of nature shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to twenty years, and shall also be liable to whipping.
– Source: Malaysiakini
So it means that the prosecution is charging Anwar for consensual anal sex with Mohd Saiful Bukhari, god bless his wretched soul.
All the talk about “menuntut keadilan” sounds like bullshit to me now. If it was consensual and it happened multiple times, it means that he must have liked it. And then he go makes a police report about it.
And Anwar asked since he was charged, why isn’t Saiful charged as well?
To me, it is becoming quite clear cut. All the talk about judiciary reforms can be thrown out of the window. A government-friendly high court judge will be appointed to this case. Based on entirely circumstantial evidence, Anwar will be convicted of consensual sodomy, and probably given a light sentence, maybe 2 years. This will mean that he will no longer be a valid MP for Permatang Pauh, and his dream of becoming PM will diminish. 2 years also means that he will not be eligible to run in the next general elections, since there is a 5 year waiting period.
Sneaky huh. Let’s just see, but something stinks, and the stink starts at the head.

It could work in his favour.
1) Malaysians will be disgusted at this flagrant injustice and abuse of the law.
2) The combined hatred and quest for justice will further spur the momentum of the opposition
3) Malaysians in unison repel and overthrow the Government
Anwar might not be PM ever, but he will be the catalyst for a revolution. That’s what martyrs are for.
Alas, we live in a passive country and none of the above will happen. Instead we will continue to take shit and Najib will be the next PM. Who do we have to blame? Ourselves.

poor anwar, just because he didn’t get to be poked by saiful (he prefer to be the male character?), he can’t put the same consensual charge on him. So remember friends, always do it 2 way, so consequences will be fair too =D
