Syed Hamid Introduces A Unique Way To Seek Protection

I’m glad. The Sin Chew reporter who was detained under the ISA yesterday has now been released, after 16 hours in custody. From the mouth of Syed Hamid Albar, our Home Minister, it was indicated that Tan Hoon Cheng would probably be released today.

However, I think there is a special Malaysian lesson to learn today. Let’s look at Syed Hamid’s words for some inspiration:

Speaking from Johor Baru this morning, Syed Hamid justified Tan’s detention under the ISA with a rare reason that it was as part of the government’s preventive measure ‘to ensure her safety’.
The minister claimed police intelligence have indicated that the journalist’s life came under threat after she reported an Umno division leader’s allegedly racist remarks.
“We have no intention of holding a reporter as after all she was just taking notes of the comments made by a certain party that led to a public debate.
“She maybe released as soon as today after police have obtained all information needed,” Syed Hamid was quoted as saying by Star Online.

The lesson to be learned is clear. The next time you feel that your life is in danger, don’t file a police report, as that will not get you the protection you might need. They might just decide to throw you into the ISA for your protection.

Smart hoh.

Syed Hamid Albar says the darndest things hoh?

Even if they wont throw me into ISA, i wouldn’t report to the police if i feel that my very life is in danger. I don’t think they can do much with their “efficiency”.

    Sorrows of families
Knowing their loved ones gone to ISA
    Where will they be?
    The government pretends

    Giving silly excuses
    From our leaders in government
It is better they kept quiet
    Don’t do anything…………..

The ones alleged to be in the plot
    Nothing is taken from them
    UMNO leaders seem immune
To the laws of the land

    Look at it
    The people understood
    Change will be known
Else it will happen in GE13

    The coalition partners
Walk out before it is too late
The signage is on the wall
    Look at it
    Understand the reason

    Walk away
Don’t be part of the devilish display
The rising of the shaft of light
    It is burning bright

    Don’t say you don’t know
The writings on the message boards
    Get out for the people
Defend their honor and be free!

This is the darnest thing I’ve ever heard from anyone for a long, long time! BN is getting more desperate than ever; they are humiliating themselves with stupid remarks. And what is Badawi doing? Sleeping.

what a joker! I can’t believe that he actually said that. so basically, if a suspected terrorist is arrested under ISA, doesn’t mean he is guilty u know! the government is just protecting him from being bashed up. how noble!

Whenever I hear such credible justifications I always think of two things. One, they think we buy it. Two, that they just don’t care what anyone thinks anymore.

I’m waiting for the day (which is soon) that they don’t even bother explaining and tell us to go screw ourselves.

My point being, we know anything they tell us is facetious and patronizing, so why do we even bother listening?

Our situation is becoming one akin to Zimbabwe. The foreign press, U.S. and ourselves can report and complain all you want but nothing changes the fact that they will not be supplanted.
