Back in the days of 1957, Barisan Nasional’s power was probably split evenly between UMNO, MIC, and MCA. Fast forward 50 years, and it’s obvious that UMNO’s power within Barisan Nasional surpasses that of other component parties.

Over the weekend, a police report was lodged by Kimma (Malaysian Indian Muslim Congress) against blogger Jeff Ooi for his appearance on al-Jazeera.
The police report alleged that Jeff Ooi had defamed the country, government, and the police. It was also alleged that Jeff’s statements was seditious and caused racial tension in the country.
